Determination of eligibility of enrolled children and confidentiality of enrollment roster.
All necessary record keeping forms and monthly collection of all necessary program records used to claim CCFP reimbursements.
 
Your responsibilities as a Family Day Care Home
Prepare and serve age specific meals that meet the meal pattern requirements: provide all children the same meal at no separate cost to the parent.
Maintain on site, records of menus, enrollment and attendance of all children and number of meals served.
Provide these records to sponsor by the 5th of the month following the claim month.
Attend all training sessions required by the sponsor (usually annually)
 
Child Care Food Program Overview
 The Child Care Food Program (CCFP) was established in 1968 in response to the need to provide adequate nutrition to a growing number of children in child care.
 
The goal of the CCFP is to see that well balanced meals are served and that good eating habits are taught in child care settings. The CCFP provides reimbursement for nutritious meals and snacks served to eligible children in family day care homes.
The CCFP is administered in Florida by the Department of Health. Funding for the program is provided by the US Department of Agriculture. Childhood Development Services, Inc. (CDS) is an approved sponsor organization for the CCFP.
 
The Child Care Food Program Serves
•Children through age 12
•Children of migrant workers through age 15
•Persons of any age that have a documented mental and/or physical disability and are enrolled in a day care home serving most persons 18 years or age and under
 
Eligibility Requirements
Family Day Care Homes must be:
Licensed by a federal, state or local licensing authority
Provider Day Cares must be affiliated with a sponsoring organization (such as CDS)
The Florida Department of Health
Provides reimbursement for meals served. (The reimbursement is determined by the number of eligible enrolled participants who are served creditable meals multiplied by the current reimbursement rates set by the US Department of Agriculture)
 
As a CCFP Sponsor, CDS offers
Processing of monthly claims for reimbursement
Filing of claims with Florida Department of Heath
Disbursement of Department of Health funds within 5 business daysof our receipt of the funds from the State
Contract with Family Day Care Homes to participant in the CCFP
Technical assistance and training on nutrition, food service operations, program Management and record keeping
Program reviews and assistance by on-site visits. These reviews insure compliance with program regulations, meeting meal requirements, keeping records and preparing accurate reports.
